Finishing touches and DONE!

Today I finally edited the last bits of filming. This is exciting to my group and I because we finally have the finished product of everything we worked for and I'm so happy for the way it came out.

I started by adding the new clips of the music video with the rest on ClipChamp to have one full video to edits. I began by helping my groupmates edit the clips in sync with each other so there aren't any strange cuts or jumps in between each clip. After I aligned everything with each other. I replayed the video multiple times to make sure there weren't any minor errors.

A few other effects were also added to the video for finishing touches. This included the iPhone sound effect when a message is received and the sound effect when the message is sent. Both in sync with what you see in the video. Next the doorbell sound when someone enters a restaurant was also added to the clip of when the actor steps into the restaurant.

With all the sound effects in place with the video we needed to add the selective blurring in the scene where the actor notices the happy couple. First the couple is focused on to show that that is what the actor noticed, and as the couple walks away, the camera's focus changes to the actor to show this expression as he is reminded of the times when he was with his girlfriend. However, in the camera the couple isn't blurred enough and so I had to find a way to selectively blur out the couple.

To do this, I used the app iMovie. I cropped out the area I wanted to blur as a photo. I overlaid the cropped photo onto the video and as the video was playing I used the tracking tool to move the cropped blur frame by frame to get the full blurred effect.

With all the editing done plus additional touches my groupmates did, the music video was completed and ready. My group and I celebrated and replayed the video multiple times, relieved from the outcome.
